Knysna Canoe Club Development Program

Merilene Janklaas is one of the coaches in the Knysna Canoe Club Development Program. They meet regularly on Saturday mornings for an hour or two of training and fun!

David often helps out on Saturday mornings and whenever there is a race in the area.

This little squad of Guppie paddlers looks set to make some big waves in the Knysna Lagoon as the develop into mature paddlers! With David and Merilene as role models, hopefully they will be inspired to take on some ARs soon!

Kat among the pigeons at the Bull

We are pleased to announce that Kat Leisure Group has come on board as
sponsors for the old Samsat Development Squad.

With the Samsat squad splitting at the end of 2007 due to financial
constraints and some team members deciding to focus their time and energies
elsewhere, it looked as if the remaining team members would not be making it
to the Bull in 2008. They have continued to be active in events in the
Garden Route area and the Kat Leisure Group (with a strong presence in the
Garden Route at Simola Golf Estate in Knysna and Pinnacle Point in
Mosselbay) has spotted their potential and decided to invest in the team.

The new Kat Leisure team has some considerable experience under their
collective belts and is looking to shake any development stigma and prove
that they are no dark horse! There will thus be very little time for leisure
during the race, as the team hopes to put in a good performance at this
year's Bull!

More details will follow, but in the mean time, please check out the Kat
Leisure Group's website and plan for your next holiday - you might be
needing some TLC after the Bull!

The team thanks all the supporters (especially those from Knysna) who have
nurtured them and put so much time, energy and financial resources into the
project to help bring them to this point.
